Yves Klein Blue are an Australian indie/rock band from Brisbane. They found notability when they were selected as a "Next Crop" artist on national radio network Triple J, and again when they won the MTV Kickstart competition in 2007. The band are signed to Brisbane record label Dew Process,[1] under which they re-released their debut EP Yves Klein Blue Draw Attention to Themselves.[2] The band are slated to launch their debut album recorded in the US in June 2009.[3] Yves Klein Blue have supported a number of high profile local and international acts, including The Fratellis, Tokyo Police Club, The Living End, Ben Kweller, You Am I and The Grates, as well as enjoying slots at Big Day Out 2008, SxSW 2008, Pyramid Rock Festival 08 and Splendour in the Grass 2008.[4]
The band have completed extensive co-headline tours around Australia with fellow up-and-comers The John Steel Singers and The Holidays.[5]
Other tours include St Jeromes Laneway Tour 09 and The Big O Tour. The band will tour the US and UK again in May/April 09 and showcase within The Great Escape Festival, Brighton UK.
In 2008/9, "Polka" was featured in a Mitsubishi Lancer commercial in Australia and Canada.
