This page is intended to coordinate Wikipedian gatherings in the Los Angeles area. In practice, L.A. Meetups hardly ever happen, because there's just too little interest in actually showing up, and the guy that was trying to organize them gave up trying and moved to Mexico.

Wiki meetups are opportunities to make friends with other Wikipedians, discuss Wikipedia-related topics, and exchange knowledge and experiences from the universe that is Wikipedia.

You may have been contacted because your name was on the Wikipedia:Wikipedians/California list under Los Angeles area, or perhaps because you had contributed to one or more L.A.-specific articles.
Help us spread the word by contacting people that you suspect may be interested, such as Wikipedians that have contributed to very L.A.-specific articles. (You can click on the What links here link in the toolbox to see who has already been contacted.)
[edit] Group offering to host LA Meetups
I thought you folks should know about this.
There's a group with a standing offer to host regular wikimeetups in Los Angeles.
They're at 4402 W. Pico (between Crenshaw and Pico, MidCity). You can learn more about their group here and here. I believe these photos are of the offered space. I think the organizer of this has also been involved with the USC Network Culture Project. I suggest that someone make contact with them. Thanks.--Pharos (talk) 11:51, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
