Victor Okechukwu Agali (born 29 December 1978 in Okpanam) is a football striker from Nigeria.

[edit] Career

At the age of 17, Agali was the top goalscorer in the Nigerian second division, and was picked up by French club Olympique Marseille. Finding it hard to establish a first team place, he played for Toulon, where he performed well. He attracted interest from Italian giants AC Milan, but ended up in Germany. In the 2003–04 season he went AWOL and fell out of favour at Schalke 04, his club. From 2005 to 2007 he played in the Turkish Premier Super League, returning to German Bundesliga-team Rostock in August 2007. At Rostock Agali did not do well, after just one goal in 23 league matches he was given a free transfer to the Greek club Skoda Xanthi FC. After a season with Greek club Skoda Xanthi the Nigerian striker has signed for Anorthosis Famagusta, the former Olympique Marseille and Schalke 04 player has signed a two-year deal.

[edit] International Career

Agali has played for Nigeria at a number of occasions, including the 2000 Summer Olympics. He was surprisingly omitted from the 2002 FIFA World Cup squad.
