[edit] 2008 NBA Draft - "Notable Undrafted"
Hey- Not interested in getting into an edit war, but this section exists on most of the other NBA Draft pages. It also isn't actually subjective since it denotes that those listed earned a "full year contract during the following season." Just trying to make the page consistent with previous years. Rikster2 (talk) 00:30, 6 June 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Quadruple-double
Excellent revision to the Quadruple-double article. I was just thinking how much better the near misses would look as a table, and you made the changes before I got a chance to. Nicely done! —C.Fred (talk) 02:34, 6 June 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/List of awards and nominations received by Snow Patrol/archive1
Hi, could you revisit to check if your oppose still stands? The nominator has added several new awards to the list. Dabomb87 (talk) 13:47, 6 June 2009 (UTC)
[edit] List of Presidents of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York
Hey, I noticed you commented on the FLC I nominated. Do you also feel this list I worked on should be merged, because this one seems more independent of the article then the one I submitted today was. Thank you for reading (and hopefully responding :D) Hello32020 (talk) 22:29, 6 June 2009 (UTC)
- Oh wait, you didn't even comment on the FLC XD Well could you respond anyway. Hello32020 (talk) 22:31, 6 June 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Rick Barry
The best I can find is this, which confirms that he had 30 points and 9 steals. Do you have a San Francisco public library card? You can access the San Francisco Chronicle's archives here; that should at least get you a box score. Zagalejo^^^ 22:34, 9 June 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Quintuple-double
No problem. I was so astonished that someone had actually completed a quintuple-double, especially on the collegiate level, that I was intrigued enough to read the story (good thing I did, I suppose). But don't worry about it, anyone who contributes regularly to Wikipedia like you and me will inevitably breeze through a source without studying it carefully and then screw up a fact or two. Great job on the Double (basketball) page though, it looks amazing. Jrcla2 21:09, 14 June 2009 (UTC)

[edit] TV Interview
Dear Chrishomingtang,
I am trying to locate contributors to Wikipedia who live in San Francisco and might be available for an on-camera TV interview next Thursday (6/25) about Wikipedia and what motivates you to contribute to Wikipedia. If you are interested please let me know. I am also looking for other Wikipedia contributors in San Francisco who would potentially be interested in doing this if you have any suggestions.
Thanks.

[edit] Whitespace removal too excessive
Hello, what is the purpose of your whitespace removal edits? I feel they go too far, especially with wikitable markup. Many editors find it much clearer to work with table data when elements are delimited by some whitespace:
| label || 431 || 562 || 43 || 6654 || 45
Of course, this is equivalent to
|label||431||562||43||6654||45
but I think the former is much easier to read in the edit window than the latter, as the table cell data stands out better. I think your script should be less aggressive with spaces inside table markup. — Andrwsc (talk · contribs) 20:24, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
- Sorry if I cause any problem. The script is not mine, so I don't know how to make it not to fix whitespace within tables. I will stop using it if it causes so much problems. Thanks for letting me know.—Chris! ct 21:08, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
- Ok, no worries! Who should I talk to about the script? — Andrwsc (talk · contribs) 19:52, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
- The script name is User:Plastikspork/monobook.js/script.js, so I guessed User:Plastikspork is the person you should talk to.—Chris! ct 20:02, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for the feedback. I have been slowly merging this script with WP:AutoEd, and there has been some discussion there about a more fine-grained approach to whitespace removal. We are working on it. It should be the case that the 'Sprk: WS' button is the only button that removes whitespace. Let me know if that is not the case. I will work on making the 'Sprk: WS' button a bit less aggressive. If you could show me an offensive diff I can target your specific case. Thanks again. Plastikspork (talk) 17:20, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
- Great, thanks! The edit that caught my watchlist was this one (later reverted by another editor for the same concerns I had, as it turns out). The whitespace removal from the wikitable (starting at line 26 in the diff) is what I disagree with, as I think wikitable markup looks better with a single space on one or both sides of the "||" cell separator. It might be useful for your script to collapse 2+ spaces down to a single space within wikitables, but I wouldn't touch the instances of single spacing. Thanks for your consideration — Andrwsc (talk · contribs) 17:39, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

Done Hopefully that solves the problem. I just tested it on 2008 Summer Olympics medal table and it appears it now leaves the spaces around the double pipes. Let me know if you see any further problems and sorry it took so long (distracted by my RFA). Plastikspork (talk) 03:28, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Bunn Award
The first one? If so, I can't get a preview for that one (and I don't think I can even get the book from a local library). Sorry. Zagalejo^^^ 05:42, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
- I haven't found much more about the Bunn Award itself, beyond the fact that it was "instituted by the Board of Trustees of the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1973". [1] I could probably find additional information on individual award winners, if you're interested.
- With regards to the Walter A. Brown trophy, that article seems to include everything that is available on the free web. The oldest Google News hit for the trophy is this 1965 New York Times article, but unfortunately, I can only access NYT articles from 1980 onwards. Zagalejo^^^ 05:07, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
- My search came up empty, too. I tried my university ProQuest database, but can't seem to find anything useful.—Chris! ct 20:27, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
- Ok, I read that article on ProQuest. But I don't think it is relevant. It mentions something about a world hockey tournament and the winner of this get the Walter A. Brown Trophy. Walter A. Brown was involved with hockey. So, I suspected that's why the hockey trophy is named after him as well.—Chris! ct 20:46, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Request for Review
Hi there! I'm drawing close to the end of a two-year project to create what will end up being the second-largest featured topic. I noticed that you're a frequent contributor to the featured items discussions, and I could use a bit of help. The last featured item I need to have approved is 2009 Orange Bowl, and I was wondering if you might have a bit of time to review the article. Any comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! JKBrooks85 (talk) 11:17, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Walter A. Brown Trophy
That's a shame (and somewhat surprising!), but it shouldn't be effected. Articles do from time to time disappear from topics due to merging. It would be nice if you could keep the information that IS in the article somewhere in the topic, but go ahead and merge away - rst20xx (talk) 22:35, 4 July 2009 (UTC)
[edit] List of defunct National Basketball Association teams
I told you on the edit summary to ask me on my talk page instead of reverting...anyways, I've since seen a table where when you put your mouse over the column heading, and it tells you when the column heading means. It looks like ie. "ColumnHeading?", with the question mark more down and smaller. I can't find how to do this on Help:Tables or Help:Sorting. This is so that we can make the columns thinner without using a key. Just look at "Seasons played" and "Playoff appearances". Don't you agree it needs the formatting mentioned above? -- L.A.K.ERS 01:21, 6 July 2009 (UTC)

- Not sure what you mean.—Chris! ct 01:33, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
- I'll ask someone else then...but don't you agree with me that the "Seasons played" and "Playoff appearances" column are way too wide? -- L.A.K.ERS 01:43, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
- Well, yes. But that is not an issue at all, in my opinion, since it doesn't affect the table much.—Chris! ct 01:49, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
- Ehh...I'm probably a reviewer will mention about the wide width span. Also, I did some research on whether of not the Baltimore Bullets played in the 1954–55 NBA season, which they had. This is indicated on NBA.com's History section here. Basketball-Reference has a mistake, as it doesn't show that the Bullets had played in that season. I'm telling you just in case you revert you. :D -- L.A.K.ERS 01:51, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
- I still don't see why the width is a problem, but whatever. As for the error, feel free to correct it.—Chris! ct 01:58, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
- I never replied saying that it was a "problem", I just thought it was too wide, which is an opinion (sorry if I'm being too political). Doesn't say anything about width problem on tables on WP:MOS, so ehh... -- L.A.K.ERS 02:12, 6 July 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Walter A Brown trophy again
Hi there. Just thought i would follow up on this. Is the plan to merge this article into another? I ask because it is still listed in the GAN list (without a review / on hold tag either), and wasn't sure what you and the reviewer want to do. If you are defintely going to merge, I would ask the main reviewer to close the review and delete it from the GAN list. If not, maybe ask the reviewer to tag it as "on hold" in the GAN list. As you know, I favour merge. hamiltonstone (talk) 00:01, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
- I think that the original reviewer forgot to note on GAN that this article is on hold. And yes, I will merge. The reason I didn't is because I am waiting for the original reviewer to reply.—Chris! ct 00:51, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
