Ruovesi is a municipality of Finland.

It is located in the province of Western Finland and is part of the Pirkanmaa region. The municipality has a population of 5,116 (31 March 2009)[2] and covers an area of 950.15 square kilometres (366.85 sq mi) of which 173.96 km2 (67.17 sq mi) is water.[1] The population density is 6.59 inhabitants per square kilometre (17.1 /sq mi).

The municipality is unilingually Finnish.

Helvetinjärvi National Park is located in Ruovesi.
