Portimonense Sporting Clube is a Portuguese football team from Portimão,Algarve southern Portugal.The club was a regular presence at the I Division during the 1980s but since then it has been relegated to the lower divisions but was promoted in 2001 to where they are currently in the Liga de Honra. The club was founded in 1914 and are from Portimão, Algarve. They currently play at the Estádio Municipal de Portimão, holding 9,544 people. Their current chairman is Fernando Rocha and their current manager is former Angolan international Lito Vidigal. They spent thirteen seasons in the Portuguese First Division and their best ever finish was 5th place in the 1984/85 season, when they drew 0-0 with Portuguese giants Benfica and Sporting CP at home on both occasions. This 5th place finish ended up with their participation in the UEFA Cup in which they lost 4-1 to Partizan Belgrade in the first round, thus being eliminated from European competitions. Their main rivals are Olhanense.
