Pontifical University of Salamanca
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Pontifical University of Salamanca (in Spanish: Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca, UPSA) is an offshoot of the University of Salamanca in Salamanca, Spain, resulting from the Spanish government's dissolution of the University of Salamanca's faculties of Theology and Canon Law in 1854.[1] Pope Pius XII later re-founded the faculties, establishing around them a different university run under the auspices of the Holy See on 25 September 1940.[1] Additional faculties and schools were added at later dates.
