Norfolk Senior Cup

The Norfolk Senior Cup is a football cup competition for clubs in the county of Norfolk in England who compete in the Eastern Counties League and the Premier Division and Division 1 of the Anglian Combination. The first competition for this cup was held in the 1881-82 season.

The competition generally has 7 knockout rounds, however the format of each round can be subject to change and can be different from one season to the next. This largely depends on what clubs enter and what league they compete. They all belong to either the Eastern Counties League or the top 2 Anglian Combination divisions.

This is a single-elimination knockout competition in which initially a single match is used to decide a tie. The winner of this match progresses to the next round however if the sides are drawn after 90 minutes, extra-time is used to decide a winner. If there is still no winner, a replay is held with the away team in the first game hosting the replay. If there is no winner after 90 minutes, extra-time is played again. If a winner is still not found, a penalty shoot-out is used to decide the winner.

The level at which the club plays is reflected in the stage it enters the competition. Eastern Counties League Premier Division teams receiving byes to Round Three.

The final, which is hosted at Carrow Road, home of Norwich City, is a one-off match with extra-time and then penalties deciding a winner with no replay, although replays were held in past years.
