Nashville Children's Theatre (NCT) is the oldest professional children's theatre company in America. It is also Tennessee's only professional, non-profit theatre dedicated exclusively to kids and families.
Since being established in 1931 by the Junior League of Nashville, NCT has performed at the historic Belcourt Theatre, Vanderbilt University and Belmont University. In 1960, the city of Nashville built a performance space specifically as home for NCT. The theatre company continues in that same space to this day. Currently, NCT productions are attended by over 60,000 children and adults each year. The theatre draws students from more than 250 schools from numerous Middle Tennessee counties.
TIME Magazine ranked NCT as one of the top five children's theatres in the country.[1]
NCT offers Drama Education with a range of classes for children ages 5-18. Concentrations include stage combat and musical theatre.
