Jean Charles Snoy et d'Oppuers

Count Jean Charles Snoy et d'Oppuers (2 July 1907–17 May 1991), son of Baron Thierry Snoy, was a Belgian civil servant, diplomat and Roman Catholic politician for the PSC-CVP. He was married to Countess Nathalie d'Alcantara and they lived at the Snoy family estate, the Castle of Bois-Seigneur-Isaac.

He graduated in law and Thomistic philosophy at the Catholic University of Leuven. He was Secretary-General of the Belgian Ministry of Economic Affairs and Head of the Belgian Delegation to the Intergovernmental Conference on the Common Market and Euratom at the Castle of the Valley of the Duchess in 1956 and signed the Treaties of Rome for Belgium, together with Paul-Henri Spaak in 1957. From 1982 until 1984, he was President of the European League for Economic Cooperation.
