Javier Paredes Arango (born July 5, 1982 in Oviedo, Asturias) is a Spanish footballer who currently plays for Real Zaragoza of the Spanish second division, as a left defender.
[edit] Football career
After starting playing football at hometown club Real Oviedo, and being relegated from the second division in 2002-03, Paredes left for two additional seasons in Real Madrid's B-side, Real Madrid Castilla, with the side by then in the third level.
In 2005-06, Paredes joined another Madrid outfit, Getafe CF, and made his official debut on August 28, 2005, in a 2-0 away win at Real Sociedad. He would only appear in seven contests that season, barred by first-choice Mariano Pernía, but would be the undisputed starter in the following, as the Argentine left for Atlético de Madrid.
In 2007-08, Paredes joined Aragon's Real Zaragoza, agreeing on a five-year deal.[1]Initially backing up Juanfran, he finished the season as first-choice, as Zaragoza eventually got relegated.
