Hulst (
pronunciation (help·info)) is a municipality and a city in the southwestern Netherlands in the east of Zeelandic Flanders.

Hulst received city rights in the 12th century.
In the seventeenth century, a star fort was constructed.[1]
In 1645, there was the Siege of Hulst by Prince Frederick Henry, during the Eighty Years' War (1568–1648).
