Geoff Thompson is best known as the former Chairman of The Football Association. He has long been associated with football especially in South Yorkshire having previously been General Manager of Doncaster Rovers. He subsequently became Chairman of Sheffield & Hallamshire Football Association before being elected as Chairman of the FA in 1999, a post he held until January 2008. Outside of football he works as a magistrate.
