Bustle Clothing, founded in 2002 by Shawn Hewson (Designer Judge on Project Runway Canada) and Ruth Promislow – both Bay street lawyers, is a leading Canadian sportswear label that has become well known for its cheeky and well-tailored leisure aesthetic.
Each season, Bustle produces a collection based around a new ‘sportif’ theme. From the Skeet Club to the Kentucky Derby, to the Spring 2009 vintage jet-set inspired “Wayfarer” Collection, high pedigree inspiration always translates into luxurious, but ‘funked-up’ classics, seasoned with Bustle's sharp tailoring, attention to details, and signature cheekiness.
Bustle has been involved in a number of varied design partnerships, including designing for such brands as the City of Las Vegas, Vespa, Ford of Canada, Miller Genuine Draft, the Pantages Suites and Cosmopolitan Hotel, the Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art, and most recently, Source UK Carpets.
Bustle’s designers have appeared as style experts on numerous Canadian and International television productions, and Creative Director Shawn Hewson sits as the full-time Designer Judge on the television series Project Runway Canada, hosted by international supermodel and style icon, Iman.
Bustle’s roster of celebrity clients includes Samuel L. Jackson, Andy Summers (the Police), Jesse Metcalfe, J.D. Fortune (INXS), Jake Gold, Andrew Stetson, Dan Levy, Tara Spencer-Nairn, Stacy McKenzie and Nicole Richie.
